Announcement... october 24th 2007

IMPORTANT!!!... to all participating artists
because of the very low return rate of the packs we are worried we won't have enough packs to go ahead with printing the posters. because we don't want this project to die and sincerely hope we can make a nice poster we figured we should give you guys one more chance to send in your submissions for this project. before we deside on it's fate...

so here's the new deadline...
in the nest 3 weeks we would like to get a reply from you saying the packs are either on their way or being shipped out real soon!
if not we conlude you are out of the project... sorry to be so harsh but things have to get wrapped up by now.

we hope to see some more packs coming our way, because we know you guys can do some great stuff and would make for great additions to the poster!!

News... july 10th 2007

It has been quiet on this website for some time now... but, fortunately this doesn't mean nothing happened! we've been quite busy organising things actually :)
So here goes... a little update to let all you guys (and gals) know how and where things are going!

First of all we would like to thank everyone for being so supportive of the project! nearly all of the initial artist have send us their adresses and some of them even went along and made some cool banners and/or painted some awesome packs! we very much appreciate all this great input!

but back to business...

we are very happy to be able to tell you guys that packs will be send out end this week. so hopefully most of the artists will be all geared up in a week or two.

we decided to go with a rough, though fairly tight, deadline for artists to return the packs. since the packs are pretty small we figured it wouldn't take weeks to paint them ;)
anyway... it would be great if all artists could send back the packs so that we receive the work somewhere around the middle of august. we want to start printing the poster late august.

also... we have set up a temporary online shop, where you can pre-order the art pack posters! the shop adress is artpackproject.bigcartel.com.
pre-ordering will save you quite some money on your order.

we want to make the posters affordable to everyone, since shipping is pretty expensive we are basicly forced to sell posters in packages ranging from 5 to 15 pieces... pricing will include handling and shipping and we think we got some pretty nice prices figured out.

the prices mostly just cover our costs but hopefully we will be able to make some extra money to put back in the project... we got some nice ideas for other cool stuff :)

to participating artists... mail us when you placed an order so we can add a little something something to your order... as a 'thank you' for your effords :) (please mail us using the email you provided to us so we can check if it's realy you ;)

Welcome to the a r t p a c k s website!

Despite all safe sex products, campaigns and education every year loads of people still get infected with std's, over 4 million people get infected with hiv every year and over 2,9 million people die of aids ( in 2006 ).

There are foundations that pay insane amounts of money for useless advertisments with so called "celebrities". These campaigns clearly don't reach the people.
Streetart is a world wide movement, so we should unite to start a campaign on our own. We therefor called 70 artists to help us!

To get this project as big as the topic is important, we will contact condom companies and organisations for helping us out with materials and support.

All the artists will get 3 condoms to draw on, after that they should return the condoms back to us.
We will put all that art together on a large poster and get it printed.
To spread the message and the art we will get a shop online, where everyone can buy a few copies.
Also we will put a pdf file online.

The price for the posters will only be for shipping, packaging and high quality printing.
We don't want to get rich, we want to spread awareness our own way... and support the artists and maybe some organisations.
